Remember that not only amount of daily calories intake is important; but the nature and quality of products they come with are important as well. When you reducing your daily ration, first of all reduce the amount of such products as butter and other animal fats, margarine, deep fried food; try not to do reduction of your greens, fruits and sources of quality protein like fish and skim milk. Be aware of high GI products as sugar or white bread. The danger of high GI food is not only in the amount of calories, but the burst of insulin secretion it causes. Being one of the most powerful anabolic, insulin in an excessive amount can seriously slow down your progress.
Generally, if you find it confusing to calculate your daily intake and energy spent, you can use even more simple rules in dieting:
- exclude deep fries (home made or fast-food) from your ration
- stop eating butter and margarine
- change your dairy products to low fat ones (change full cream milk to skim - green or yellow top one, and cheese to cottage cheese.
- forget about pastry, pasta and bread
- when you feel hungry, eat as much as you want green veggies, fruits (except bananas) and drink a lot of water
- limit white sugar and it’s products
There changes are proven to work. But what is more important – instead of forcing any diet on yourself, make sure than all changes and little steps toward your health will gently integrate into your life style, and then you will receive good long-term results.
